Thank you for joining us for a great wander in the woods, this year from Duke to UNC. The finish was amazing as we plodded up Franklin Street dodging and weaving between thousands of happy UNC fans just after the Carolina victory over Miami. (Please note: We will return this 'non-event' to its proper alignment with the Duke/UNC game, next year...likely the 2nd Saturday in March.).
Even a minor (on-brand, as Lego rightly noted) reprimand couldn't dampen the good mojo...(more on that soon)
I'm so delighted with how the day transpired and especially with all the new finishers this year, including:
Lisa
Ethan
Gabby
Hailey
Gavin, and
Val
Additionally, Psyclops gets a special mention as he finishes it for the second time but truly his first non-bandit finish. (Right, Psyclops?). Nicely done.
Congratulations to each of you!!
Truly an accomplishment. 3 culverts, one of which was at least a mile long (or close to it). Great work to you all.
(Not pictured Klix and Val)
And to the return finishers...thank you for a great day in the woods...
Dropkick

Cruz
Tempo
Blynk

And kudos to Kuhlaid for a 25 miler to the last aid station and Snuffy (and Layla) for a first half journey.
Thanks again to Half Dome for the post race transportation and conversation! (Steel String w/o of Mar 10?)
Each of you is an inspiration and I'm truly happy to be on the trails with us as a group or with any of you 1:1 talking life.
Finally, the biggest shout out to Mrs. Skrapple...thank you my dear bride for keeping us hydrated, fueled, and feeling good all day with your persistent, moving aid station. Couldn't do it without you, my love.
More details to come on the website (when I get to it). It was especially fun to have some chow at Carolina Brewery and get to meet many of your spouses and partners. Really fun day.
Well done, all.
Hugs,
Skrapple
